Ryan Veterinary Hospital specializes in pet birds, small mammals, reptiles, and other exotic animals and is home to Philadelphia’s only ABVP-Avian board veterinarian. Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECSS) recently recertified them as a Level One Trauma Facility after handling more than 34,600 patient visits per year.

The Ryan Veterinary Hospital Emergency Service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for pet parents whose pets get ill or demand immediate care, as well as veterinarian-referred cases for cats and dogs with critical or life-threatening issues that require immediate attention.

With a total of 7,000 canine donors and in-house cat donors, the hospital was the first to have an animal bloodmobile and blood bank. Two to three times every week, the hospital’s animal bloodmobile visits blood drives. A total of 1,000 canines are registered as active donors.
