DC Fire K9 Helped Find Trapped Man In Collapsed Building

A four-legged rescuer helped the fire and rescue team to locate a man trapped in the rubble of a collapsed building in Washington DC. Kimber, a DC Fire EMS rescue dog, pinpointed the exact location of the man, and rescuers were able to pull out the victim and care for his injuries.

The US To Prohibit Entry Of Dogs From Several Countries To Curb Rabies Spread

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on June 14th, 2021, that they would prohibit the entry of dogs in 113 countries beginning July 14th. The prohibition would last for a year and is subject to periodic review. Some of the countries on the list include China, Peru, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Colombia, Indonesia, and Kenya.

Bidens’ Beloved Boy, Champ, Succumbs To Death

US President Joe Biden and First Lady Biden announced on June 19th, 2021, that their pet, German Shepherd, Champ, has died. He was 13 years old. “Our family lost our loving companion Champ today. I will miss him”, the President wrote on his Twitter page. Champ died in the Biden’s home in Delaware where they were spending the weekend.

Animal Service Director, Julie Bank, stated that this tragic incident is completely avoidable. She urges dog owners to take extra precautions when temperatures and humidity are at the extremes. Giving your pets plenty of fluids and keeping them in the shade should be emphasized, as well as, avoiding too much exercise.
