The South Carolina Department of Health And Environmental Control has issued a rabies alert and a warning on a rabid puppy. The puppy in question is a 7-week-old Tan And White Pitbull that was reported over the weekend of July 24, 2021, to be positive for rabies. Health officials in South Carolina are urging anyone to seek medical help if ever they have come in contact with the said dog.

Mississippi Court Upholds Conviction Of Man For Dogfighting Charges

On September 30, 2021, the Mississippi Supreme Court upholds the conviction of a man who was convicted for three felony counts on dogfighting charges in 2019. Tommie Queen, a resident of Adams County, was sentenced to 9 years in prison for dogfighting charges. He is the first person in the state of Mississippi to be convicted of such charges.
